Kevin Smith plans to make a horror film called 'Red State', but found that finding funding for the film might not be easy, since the Weinstein Comapny turned down the financing the project.
Though when there are a large group of fans, there's hope for the film,

"Interviewed on the Cinema Studies Student Union of the University of Toronto blog, Smith said he came up with the revolutionary funding concept following a suggestion from one of his followers on Twitter. "We're kind of creating this website," he said. "We're seeing if it works to set up and collect donations."

Smith has also promised to match the donations made from fans.
